I have two WordPress blogs I barely use, but suddenly (unless I haven’t checked them somehow since the last update?) they have PR4 and PR5 respectively. Neither has more than 10 posts total, and neither has any posts for weeks. What is going on? I don’t think they get traffic (from the WordPress stats) and would be surprised if they get links, but can’t figure out how to determine that. Any ideas?!?!?1

No, PageRank does NOT depend on the age of the site and if it has good content. Ranking well in the search engines depends on those items, but PageRank is strictly math.

You can use the "link:" command to see some of your inbound links in Google. They won’t show you all of them, but it might give you some idea where the PR is coming from.
