1.how to get good rankings in search engine?

Aug 5th, 2009 by admin | 3

There are many things you have to get right to rank well in the search engines. Unless of course you want to rank well for something that very few people search for.

For example if you search Yahoo for ‘yellow lemur shoes’ it can find only 20,000 relevant pages and ranking number 1 for that search term would be very easy.

However if you wanted to be ranked for a common search term like ‘xbox 360 games’ you would have to compete with 72,500,000 pages and to get on the first page of the results would be very difficult.

The more competitive your search term the more you will need to know about search engine optimization, see the source below for a free tutorial on the subject.

Be sure to use your keywords in the text on your webpage. Make sure you have plenty of unique and helpful content on your site. This will also enable you to get links from other websites, which will improve your ranking. Include that ‘alt’ tag in all your images, and make sure that your website passes web specifications with the W3C Validator.

The most important thing regarding search engine placement is to not only have the keywords and other meta data the way you want it — but you need to have other sites with decent page rankings point to your site. The Eigen value for search value is determined based on the number of links pointing to you — it’s not a good measure if YOU think that your page is important, it’s just what others think.

Also, don’t focus on 1 or 2-word key words, they are extremely difficult to get high placement on now unless you have an enormous amount of traffic to deal with.
