different words that people search for will have it come up on chance that that person is looking for something that is on your web-site. you also could take it up w/ yahoo or google and pay them i think.

Search engine ranking has absolutely nothing to do with how much traffic you get. The ranking of your page depends on:
– the quality of the meta tags on your site (do they match the search criteria that you want to be used to find you).
– the number of pages that point TO YOU with a text link. This tells a search engine that you have a very important page and that your page should be ranked higher. Keep in mind that when you do this, you should use the search criteria that you set up in your meta tags.

Search engine algorithms are very complex and take into account a number of factors. This includes content, link popularity, metatags, and many others. Check out my source for some excellent ranking factors. In order to move up, you need to address all of these and blend them with whatever your site is about.
