I have been informed by some that if you host your UK domain within the USA, it can alter search engine results… Is this true? If no information is entered in Google Webmaster Tools, Google will continue to make geographic associations largely based on the top-level domain (e.g. .co.uk or .ca) and the IP address of the web server from which the context was served.
What about if you have a .co.uk domain and a USA IP address? Will I get better rankings if it is all UK based?

Yes, you will get better ranking in UK searches if the hosting is in the UK. Of course you have to weigh up the extra cost of hosting in the UK to determine whether or not you think it would be worth it.

I plan to buy several .info domains because it is on sale on Godaddy for only $1.. Will it matter on my search engine? Is it really advantageous to use .coms or .info is fine.. I am hoping for some answers..i would appreciate it a lot..

Ill be honest. It ALL depends on content and SEO you apply. If Google likes your page and is relevant to your SEO keyword, it is the same thing.

Some people will say that its better to buy com. And well, they might be right.

But the fact that I can go out and do the same thing with 1$ .info domain than a 14$ .com domain, well you see my point. Its all about your work in the end. Now think what you want:
.com= true, this normally means higher chances to rank good
.info=WAY cheaper and if you know how to do it, its the same as a .com

I’m starting a small business in Portland, Oregon and I need to find out some market research information about my proposed location. I’ve had very little luck on the internet and I have found limited resources. Some things I need to know are the economic condition of my area, which includes dollars of retail and service sales, percentage of change from previous years, percentage of unemployment, and (this being the most challenging one) number of business starts and failures. This is only a piece of the information I need, does anyone know where I can find this information? By phone or internet? I need this information by tomorrow so I don’t have much time and I can’t actually visit any research businesses.
